This map shows geological features, suggests the last basalt flow, and includes alotments and names of Mining Companies. Although this map has no date on it the Ballarat Industrial School is used for dating purposed. The Ballarat Industrial School ran from 1869-1879, but the term Ballarat Industrial School Reserve was still in use in 1898 and possibly beyond.Geological Map of Ballarat with 3 holes in the left hand side. "The 250 acres of land to the west of Yuilles Swamp (Lake Wendouree) was permanently granted to The Corporation of the City of Ballaarat by the State Government on the 23rd December 1857 for the purposes of a 'Botanical Garden for the recreation, education and enjoyment of the community." Clothing - Blazer, Ballarat Teachers' College Blazer, c1948
This blazer was worn by Helen Veitch while a student at Ballarat Teachers' College. She attended Urquhart Street Primary School and Ballarat High School. The first school she taught at was Wedderburn Primary School Grades 1 and 2 (46 students). She also taught at wendouree West , Urquhart Street and Pleasant Street Primary Schools. Helen Veitch married Max Bennett on 16 April 1965, and she died on 18 April 1979.Blue woollen blazer with blue braid and pocket with Ballarat Teachers' College logo. They were the Wendouree state school, Wendouree west state school, Pleasant street state school, Macarthur street rural school, and Alfredton state school.Included throughout the notebook are various handwritten images which were noted as a copy of that day's lesson taken off the blackboard.They were kept in place with metal holders. George Smith was a noted nurseryman and seedsman who founded the Royal Exotic Nurseries at Lake Wendouree. He gave technical advice in the laying out of the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, the planting of street trees and in advancing numerous municipal works around Ballarat.George Smith advanced the interests of Ballarat and its inhabitants in numerous ways, especially in agriculture and horticulture.
